The queen of Russian fashion became the creator of
a charitable foundation in Kenya
Mila Anufrieva is the ideologist and founder of the “Mila for Africa” charitable Foundation and has been working on the problems of orphans, homeless children, people with albinism and the Maasai tribe in Africa for 9 years. Since that year, “Mila for Africa” has operating in Kenya
Mila is a well-known fashion consultant with an impeccable reputation in Europe. She owned the largest “Vanity” retail chain: 15 luxury boutiques in St. Petersburg and Moscow. Political and creative elite came to boutiques to make style in dress.
Everything changed in 2007. Mila felt sick, but at first she didn’t pay much attention to it. She continued to work hard until it got even worse. As a result of numerous examinations and tests Mila was diagnosed with one of the most aggressive types of cancer – melanoma of the nerve ending. The doctors informed her that she had no more than three months to live.
Mila decided to fight to the end. The hardest operation was done in Switzerland. Mila was still alive!

There were other trials ahead of Mila: there was a raider seizure of her business. The ‘’Vanity’’ was stolen. Mila decided to move to Italy due to health issues.
She even started anew in Italy. Mila has become famous in the fashion industry there for one year. Mila was the ambassador of 150 best brands.
In 2017, after a call from an old acquaintance, who was the owner of the “Moringа for Life” business, Mila Anufrieva bought a ticket and flew to Kenya.
After a while she returned to buy Moringa again and stayed in Africa because there was the Covid. Mila Anufrieva met the Maasai tribe. They said that it has not rained in the valley for a long time. Their animals were dying without water. And they tried to sell their jewelry on the beach to get money.
On that trip, also Mila Anufrieva went to albino children for the first time, because she needed to make a donation. She brought them food and protective cream. After two months on the next trip, Mila met the Maasai again. Trips were repeated.
The projects of helping albino children and the Maasai tribe were started in Kenya. Mila
supported children and families. She provided medical care to those in need and helped with buying certain things to make people’s life easier.
Then she asked the women of the Maasai tribe to create jewelry for her. It was a first order and job for them. When the order was done, she went to Dubai and made the first sales. The project “Mama Maasai Jewelry” appeared. Due to that, the world knows about the culture of the tribe.
In 2023, Mila Anufrieva opened a foundation in Kenya, which unites all that projects
The foundation helps more than a thousand people in Kenya. Mila Anufrieva regularly comes to them with help. Flip on to learn more about our projects.
